The history of Blue Bay (Blauw Baai)

The name Blauw Baai is derived from Anno Blaauw, who owned this fertile coastal strip around 1700. Here, he cultivated citrus fruits and the rare indigo dye, among other things. During World War II, the area was used by American troops, and in the 1990s, development of the current Blue Bay Resort began. Thanks to this rich history and careful development, it is now one of Curaçao’s most beloved resorts.
